Sunday Worship Service

Ananda's Festival of Light is a celebration of the Divine within each of us. Whether led by ministers from Palo Alto, Ananda Village or local Ananda leaders, group energy gives power to your personal, inner communion with God. Meditation, chanting, scriptures of East and West, inspirational talk, ritual, poetry, and prayer. Come "lift up your heart in a Festival of Light" and join us in Boulder Creek to celebrate the ray of the Divine as brought to us by Paramhansa Yogananda and our line of Gurus.


Chanting (Kirtans)

Chanting is the repetitious singing of devotional poems, prayers or affirmations set to simple melodies. To sing in this way awakens the natural love of the heart and prepares the way for meditation. If you have difficulty stilling your mind for meditation, devotional chanting may be just what you need. Perhaps this is why Paramhansa Yogananda said "Chanting is half the battle." In India they call these events "Kirtans." The chants are usually accompanied by harmonium, guitar, kirtals, and drums. See the Calendar of Events for scheduled chanting.


Healing Prayer Ministry

Our group is a member of the Ananda Healing Prayer Ministry. Praying for others is a wonderful way to offer service to God and you are invited to join us in helping to heal others. We use Paramhansa Yogananda's techniques for channeling Divine energy at a distance. We end each of our group meditations with healing prayers and individual members include healing prayers in their own daily practices as well.
